POSITION SUMMARY:
The Training Specialist will enhance the competencies of individual employees by designing and
conducting training programs that will boost employees workplace performance in alliance with Environmental Solutions Group (ESG) company’s core values. You will be responsible for performing training for end-customer(s) and dealer technicians in the proper operation and maintenance of products within the ESG portfolio needs assessments. You are responsible for the designing, delivering curriculum, learning materials, and for managing all phases of training interventions. Execution of the training strategy, continuous improvement of training methods, assessment of training outcomes, and revenue generation are key required activities. With a primary focus on Heil products, the incumbent will have additional opportunities for training within the 3rd Eye, Curotto Can, Marathon, and Connected Collections product lines.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE:
- Plan, design, develop, deliver, and assess technical training programs:
- Maintain awareness of changes to the product portfolio and ensure that training is available to support technicians from product launch and throughout the product’s lifecycle.
- Training formats include live classroom, live webinar, Learning Management System (LMS), Service Shack/YouTube videos, etc.
- Manage the overall process of technical training curriculum development including training creation, review, final approval, and periodic re-evaluation of course content.
- Be able to facilitate class by organizing material, setting up and taking down of the classroom.
- Continuously improve training using innovative methods based upon student and customer feedback.
- Employ principles of Adult Learning.
- Mentored by the Senior Training Specialist.
- May require some supervision to perform certain tasks.
- Revenue generation:
- Meet revenue goals established for training through current and newly identified training products.
- Recommend pricing and discount strategies for training offerings.
- Develop and manage the Nexteligence training and certification program for ESG:
- Identify, develop, and certify technical trainers with the skill, technical knowledge and instructional skills including hands on learning to effectively teach end-users how to maintain and troubleshoot ESG products.
- Maintain training and certification records using Smartsheet, Microsoft Teams, HR Central, Salesforce or similar tools.
- Assist in training events for other ESG product brands.
- Promote the Heil and ESG brands:
- Participate in Marketing-led events such as trade shows, promotional videos, and road show events with up to 100% travel.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in education, Training, Human Resources or related field or equivalent experience.
- 3-5 years of experience in Training, or Organizational Development with emphasis on designing and conducting training events in a corporate setting preferred. May consider a candidate who experienced a successful internship with a degree in a field listed.
- Two or more years’ experience in Project Management, Technical Support, Product Management, Sales, Engineering, or other related business experience. Having a truck chassis/body or compactor experience is a plus.
- 0-2 years’ experience with the ESG product portfolio.
- Extensive knowledge of instructional design theory and learning principles.
- Proven ability to master the full training cycle.
- Familiarity with traditional and modern training methods, tools, and techniques.
- Ability to problem-solve, think creatively and be proactive.
- Sound decision making and organizational skills.
- Ability to present complex information to a variety of audiences.
- Must be a hands-on, organized individual with strong analytical (including Excel, and other spreadsheet programs) design capabilities, and have a passion for developing strategic initiatives based on market-based business case analysis.
- Knowledge of using Microsoft office software including PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
- Must be a self-starter and exercise a substantial degree of judgment. High standards, high quality work is of utmost importance. Decisions must be well thought-out and analyzed.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
