Job Description:
Primary Function:
The Training Specialist Supervisor will lead and develop a dynamic team responsible for the evaluation, creation, and execution of training programs that support organizational growth and efficiency at the Fort Collins site. This role requires a focus on improving the training experience for both new and existing employees while fostering a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performance culture within the team.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Primary:
- Leadership & Team Development: Lead, develop, and manage a team of Training Specialists (approximately 10 direct reports). Drive continuous improvement in team performance through coaching, feedback, and structured development plans.
- Training Effectiveness Evaluation: Regularly assesses and evaluates the effectiveness of training programs and activities. Use feedback to refine and improve the delivery and content to better align with organizational goals and employee needs.
- Onboarding & Training Programs: Oversee and manage the onboarding process for new operators and other employees, ensuring programs such as New Employee Orientation (NEO) and New Employee Training (NET) are effective and scalable. Continuously improve training paths to ensure high certification rates and successful onboarding experiences.
- Instructional Design & Delivery: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement training programs using Instructional Systems Design (ISD). Facilitate training sessions that focus on skills development, operational excellence, and leadership training across the organization.
- Performance Coaching: Provide consistent coaching and mentoring to team members and trainees. Develop the coaching skills of team members and ensure that follow-up sessions with trainees are scheduled to ensure long-term success.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive the ongoing development of training content, ensuring it is updated to meet the evolving needs of the organization. Identify new training opportunities and areas for improvement within operations.
Secondary:
- Collaboration with Leadership: Work closely with Operations and other leadership teams to assess training needs and priorities. Develop training solutions that address business goals, organizational needs, and specific skill gaps.
- Cultural Development: Play an active role in developing a positive and inclusive workplace culture by leveraging Emotional Intelligence (EQ) and communication skills. Lead efforts to integrate programs like "The 4 Stages of Psychological Safety" and "EQ Index" into training strategies to improve team dynamics and employee engagement.
- Strategic Planning: Collaborate with leadership to develop and align the training team’s goals with organizational priorities. Contribute to long-term strategic planning initiatives that ensure training programs support overall business objectives.
Key Projects & Responsibilities:
- Lead cross-functional projects, such as quality initiatives.
- Develop structured coaching programs to help new hires and current employees improve their performance in key operational areas.
- Evolve existing training programs to increase interactivity and engagement that align with operational needs.
- Mentor and coach team members to take ownership of modules and content for NEO/NET, providing opportunities for professional growth.
Minimum Education/Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree preferred; Associate degree or equivalent related work experience considered.
- Experience:
- 8+ years of overall professional experience, including a minimum of 1-2 years in a supervisory or management role within training or development.
- 5+ years of experience in designing, facilitating, and evaluating training programs.
- Experience in team building, conflict resolution, and interpersonal communication.
- Proven track record of leading cross-functional teams to achieve business goals.
- Experience with Situational Leadership II, Crucial Conversations, Accountability, and Influencer or other similar leadership development methodologies.
- Skills:
- Strong coaching and mentoring abilities, with a focus on both individual and team performance.
- Expertise in training needs analysis, instructional design, and evaluating learning outcomes.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Certification in Crucial Conversations or other leadership programs.
- Experience with implementing coaching programs and measuring their effectiveness.
- Ability to design and implement strategic plans for team growth and training program development.

Additional Job Description:
Compensation and Benefits
The annual base salary range for this position is $84,000 - $135,000
This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus in accordance with relevant plan documents, and equity in accordance with equity plan documents and equity award agreements.
